UKRAINE-War: SECUINFRA donates 10.000 EURO to Aktionsbündnis Katastrophenhilfe
Since the outbreak of hostilities, the plight of people in Ukraine has worsened dramatically. According to the UNHCR refugee agency, the number of people who have fled Ukraine since the start of the war has reached an estimated 2.2 million (as of March 10, 2022). The humanitarian situation in the contested areas is expected to deteriorate dramatically, leading to even greater refugee movements. According to the United Nations, this is the fastest growing refugee movement in Europe since World War II.
SECUINFRA would like to support the people fleeing the fighting and the unimaginable humanitarian suffering in Ukraine and has directed a donation of 10,000 EURO to Aktionsbündnis Katastrophenhilfe.
The member organizations of Aktionsbündnis Katastrophenhilfe – Caritas international, Deutsches Rotes Kreuz, Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe and UNICEF Germany – are joining forces to support the people fleeing the fighting, to provide them with shelter and to supply them with food, clothing and other daily necessities.
The management of SECUINFRA as well as the entire team are in thoughts with the Ukrainian population as well as with the refugees and hope that they can make at least a small contribution with this donation to reduce their suffering a little.
About Aktionsbündnis Katastrophenhilfe
Since 2001, Caritas international, Deutsches Rotes Kreuz, Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe and UNICEF Germany have been jointly appealing for donations in the event of major disasters as Aktionsbündnis Katastrophenhilfe. In this way, the alliance sends a public signal that people in the disaster area urgently need help. All four organizations in Aktionsbündnis Katastrophenhilfe are among the most important and experienced players in humanitarian aid in Germany. They are active worldwide, whether in disasters that receive a lot of media attention or in so-called “silent or forgotten” crises.
The alliance organizations can draw on a good network in Ukraine. In recent years, the people have already been helped in many ways. For example, mobile teams provide people near the front line with food, briquettes for heating and cash aid so they can buy warm clothes and medicines. Psychosocial help, especially for children, is also an important part of the measures.
